The Raucous Bunch: Taking Care Of Puppies

The first few weeks of puppy ownership are amazing. You will be besotted with how cute and affectionate they are, and may ignore all the down sides.

However, the fun ends as soon as your puppies start peeing and pooping wherever they want to. This is surely a problem that every dog owner encounters, but there are ways to cope with it.

A puppy is just a puppy, and although hard to take care of, it cannot even compare to the challenge you face when taking care of a bunch of puppies. Just multiply everything you have to deal with by two or three or four.

To try and lessen the damage to your house, and at least make sure it doesn’t stink, you need to stay on top of the situation and be aware of what needs doing. It is very important to maintain disciplined at all times.

A great idea is to designate a room for just the puppies, and only the puppies. This could be a spare bedroom or laundry room – just make sure you take everything out and cover the floor with newspaper. This will ensure you only have one area to clean up, and that the whole house doesn’t get destroyed.

Puppies pee and poop whatever they eat just as fast as they consume it. It’s important to make sure that your puppies are in an area where you don’t mind the pee or poop, and make sure they are there right after eating – it goes through them really fast!

Always feed your puppies on a regular time basis. You should never leave it out all the time, as that’s just asking for a mess to clean up.

This might take most of your patience but don’t worry, all of it will disappear as soon as they start looking at you with pleading puppy eyes. Now, you might want to keep all of them just because of that.
