Privacy Policy

What we collect, what we do not, and how to reach us about your data.

The Pet Zone (thepetzone.org) is a dog-information website. We keep data collection to the minimum a normal website needs to run. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not run third-party advertising networks.

What we collect

  • Basic server logs. Like nearly every website, our host records standard request data such as IP address, browser type, and the pages visited. This is used to keep the site secure and working, and it ages out on a normal retention cycle.
  • Analytics. We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which pages are useful. Where used, it measures traffic patterns in aggregate, not individual identities.
  • Email you send us. If you contact [email protected], we keep your message so we can reply and follow up. We do not add you to any list.
  • Comments, if enabled on a page, store the name, email, and content you submit so the comment can be displayed and moderated.

Cookies

We use only the cookies needed to run the site and, where applicable, basic analytics. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.

Third parties

Some pages embed content from other services (for example, links to community posts). Those services may set their own cookies or collect data under their own policies when you interact with them. We do not control those policies. We do not share or sell your personal data to advertisers or data brokers.

Your choices

You can ask us what personal data we hold about you, request a copy, or ask us to delete it. Email [email protected] and we will handle the request. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA; we honor those requests.

Changes

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we will update this page and the date below. Questions go to [email protected].
